Record Lable

One of the conventions of a digipack is to contain the record company’s logo, as a group we narrowed the logo designs down to 6 designs final designs which we then conducted a questionnaire on to find out which was the most popular with our audience. Below is the 6 designs we chose and the results from the questionnaire.

This question looks at which logo our audience preferred, as we can see from the results Paper Planes is most popular choice as is the one we are going to use for our record labile logo on our digipack due to is being a popular choice and one we liked as a group. Crystal Records was very close following behind with 8 votes for it, both these logo are very similar as they were simplistic and minimal which is conventional for record labels which produce indie track. The simplistic design was what our audience most liked due to them both being very close results.

This question we asked whether there chosen logo suited the indie genre, as we can see the large majority thought there chosen logo suited the indie genre.

Our final question was down to a small disagreement other whether we should have a splash of colour on the logo or not. Myself and tom though we should however Abbie and Dannielle did not think so as they wanted to keep the simplistic design as it was conventional to the genre. After asking the question we can see that the simplistic black and white design is key to the indie genre.
