Our narrative is going to consist of 2 main characters with a few extras for school scene. One of our main characters needs to be a male, originally we were going to use Ryan (photo on the left). We planned to use Ryan because of his build was exactly the type of male we wanted to play the boyfriend with brown hair and eyes. As a group we visited Ryan in November and explained exactly what we needed him to do a briefed him on the background of video which is mental health. Ryan was happy to progress with us and help us with our filming however due to double booked dates with over commitments for his future carer we had to find someone else who fitted the criteria we had. Abbie then suggest one of her friends who fitted our criteria and also they were someone we could rely on to be there on time. With Mathew being friend with Abbie this made him feel more comfortable around Abbie, which was very key for us considering they had to be very up close with each other to portray a happy and healthy relationship. Overall Mathew fitted the type of male we wanted with brown eyes and hair and also being taller than our female character.
Abbie
Our second main character needed to be our female to create the couple for narrative which would break down because of the female’s mental health. This meant our female actress needed to understand what we needed them to do and be willing to use makeup and other methods to make them look washed out, crying, ill, etc. After going through our possibilities we spoke to Abbie a member of our group and asked if she would like to. After thinking about this she was more than happy to so, it was a big decision as she wanted to be a part in the filming however we agreed she could film scene which do not require herself like the performance element. Abbie was the ideal female for this role as she was shorter than our original male and also shorter than our second one Mathew. She also dressed very indie like with ripped jeans which is one of the costumes we wanted.
Performance
Reece (base and singer)
Luke (guitar and lead singer)
For our performance element we required 3 people, 1 of which was a leading singer and guitarist which we placed Luke into this role because of his skill of playing a guitar and being comfortable playing it in front of us which meant his acting was spot on and his lyp syncing. Our initial plan was then to have Reece on the drums due to this being his main skill however due to our drummer falling ill on the day of filming Reece stepped into the role of bass guitarist and singer, Reece performed in this position very well even though it was not his main skill and his lyp syncing was very accurate. For our third person our group member tom stepped in to playing the drums due to his clothing he wears being very indie, this was also the case for Reece and Luke so all our costumes were sorted very quickly.
