Laura Mulvey and uses of gratification 

Laura Mulvey was born on the 15th august 1941 and is a British feminist film theorist. She studies at ST Hilda’s college, oxford and is currently professor if film and media studies at Birkbeck University of London. Laura create the “Male gaze” theory which say that it occurs when the audience are put into the eyes of a heterosexual male, through the use of camerawork, editing and mise en scene. For example long lingering camera shots on the curves of a women body, It creates a representation that women are seen as objects and not people.
